We recently unveiled our latest plans for the proposed redevelopment of Mell Square in Solihull town centre and launched the next stage of our Community Conversations to gather feedback from the local community.
Following cabinet approval of the Development Agreement last month, we are working in partnership with Solihull Council to revitalise Mell Square and deliver on their ambitions to enhance Solihull town centre’s existing offer.
Launching today (4 November), the Community Conversation will run until 2 December, with events taking place throughout the month – two in person drop-in events on 13 and 16 November in Mell Square, and a virtual event on 6 November at 6.30pm.
Before finalising and submitting an outline planning application to Solihull Council, we are inviting the community to view the proposals and provide their feedback on the website: www.mellsquaresolihull.co.uk
On the launch of the Community Conversation, Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council said:
“These opportunities will allow the local community to share their feedback on the next phase of this project.”
“In October 2023, Solihull Council named Muse as its preferred development partner to bring forward ambitious regeneration plans for the iconic Mell Square.”
“Muse is working closely with the Council and other partners to deliver a transformation of Mell Square over the next ten years, enhancing the already successful town centre with a significantly improved retail offer, expanded night-time economy and new high-quality housing.”
Maggie Grogan, Managing Director for Muse added:
“Since being confirmed as the Development Partner, we have organised events in Mell Square and held a public survey to gather local insight.”
“We’ve attracted a good level of interest highlighting how invested the community is in the future of Mell Square. We look forward to having more conversations and receiving the feedback on the plans before we submit a planning application next year.”
