Following the news in 2022 that we were certified as a Great Place to Work, as well as also being one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, we’ve just received word that we’ve been certified for a second year, by the global leader on measuring workplace culture.

We took the decision to start on the Great Place to Work (GPTW) accreditation journey last year, as part of a wider colleague engagement and wellbeing strategy, to make sure we’re doing everything we can to provide a supportive and open environment for our people.

Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys, assessing people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work to determine the UK’s Great Place to Work™ list. The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

We surveyed our entire workforce, including those on maternity leave, with our response rate well in excess of last year’s 90%. 90% of people also responded to state that Muse was a great place to work.

Jill O’Grady, Head of HR, said:

As a business, we create kinder, safer places in our towns and cities across the UK. We take the same approach for our people too, as we foster a supportive environment, which nurtures inclusivity, collaboration and wellbeing.”
We’re delighted to once again be accredited as a Great Place to Work. This process continues to provide us with evidence-based information to benchmark against other businesses like ours, with plenty of best practice data to enable us to continuously improve for our colleagues.”

Great Place to Work Certification™ is recognised around the world by employees and employers alike and is the global benchmark for identifying outstanding employee experiences.

“Our understanding about what employees need, and how they behave, has changed dramatically in recent years. Certified™ companies put people first.” says Ben Gautrey, Managing Director at Great Place to Work® UK. “Once Certified™, you become a member of a group of likeminded people-first companies.

“It’s important to honour all of the work that goes into creating a Certified™ company.”

“Great Place to Work Certification™ isn’t something that comes easily” says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place to Work®. “It takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience.”
