We’re thrilled to have won ‘Commercial Development of the Year for Yorkshire and Humberside’ for our One City Park workplace in Bradford at the CoStar Impact Awards.

The awards, which highlight the commercial real estate transactions and projects that have transformed their markets over the past year, heralded the building as ‘Bradford’s biggest game changer in 20 years’.

One City Park is a state-of-the-art building providing 56,403 sq ft (5,240 sq m) of Grade A office space, that has significantly raised Bradford’s profile as a key destination for businesses.  We delivered the scheme on time and on budget in partnership with City of Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council. International professional services firm, PwC were announced as the anchor tenant for the scheme, taking almost 50% of the available space.

The judges, made up of an independent panel of industry professionals, all praised the difference this would make to the city.

Stuart Howie, principal, managing director, Leeds, Avison Young called it:

A game-changing development for Bradford that will change perceptions of what can be developed and which businesses may invest in the city.”

“Bradford as an office destination is often overlooked and development of new spaces in most instances is rarely viable. The project showcases how impactful the public sector can be at unlocking projects, and the letting to PwC is the endorsement of the decision to push ahead.”

Rob Whatmuff, head of Leeds office, industrial and logistics, Colliers said: “The transaction stood out as it was the first pre-let agreed on the first new Grade A office building in central Bradford in over 20 years. … The building specification is as good as any new speculative Grade A office building anywhere in the county.”

The PwC letting at One City Park has been shortlisted for ‘Deal of the Year’ at Yorkshire Business Insider’s inaugural Placemaking Awards which will be held in June, and the building is also shortlisted in the Northern BCO (British Council of Offices) Awards, to be announced in May.
