Transformation

Salford Central is a game-changer. We’ve repurposed a former surface car park and mainly derelict area of Salford, into a vibrant and thriving mixed-use destination.

Area-wide regeneration

The vast £1 billion, 50-acre scheme has addressed years of neglect and degradation. Originally the site of New Bailey prison built in the 1700s, Salford’s riverfront had become little more than huge surface car parks along with poor-quality office buildings.

A new future

Making the most of its unrivalled connections and location, New Bailey is now a buzzing commercial hub with hundreds of new city-centre homes and a bustling leisure scene. It has attracted major global business to a once no-go area and is now a major economic contributor to the city and wider region.

New Bailey

A great new neighbourhood

Chapel Street is home to a diverse and inspiring community, thanks to the delivery of hundreds of high-quality, award-winning and critically acclaimed new homes. The area now hosts independent bars and restaurants, started up by locals who shared our vision.
