Welcome to Siskin Meadow
Siskin Meadow is a new nature park on the edge of Crewe, created to provide more space for wildlife and people to enjoy.
Once a working arable field, the site has been transformed with native woodland, scrub, species-rich grassland, ponds and walking routes. As these habitats establish over the coming years, they will provide food, shelter and breeding places for a growing variety of birds, mammals, insects, amphibians and reptiles.
The nature park has been created as a permanent green space and will be carefully managed, monitored and enhanced over the next 30 years, helping nature flourish while creating somewhere local people can enjoy throughout the seasons.
What can you discover?
More than 30 bird species have already been recorded on and around the site, including skylarks, siskins, buzzards, willow warblers and song thrushes. Slow worms, common toads and a wide range of pollinating insects also benefit from the habitats being created.
Every visit is different. As the landscape matures, you’ll discover new flowers, wildlife and seasonal changes throughout the year.
