Plans presented for regeneration of former Thames Valley University site
Along with Homes England, we are holding a third ‘Community Conversation’ this month to present their plans to transform North West Quadrant (NWQ) in Slough town centre, into a vibrant and sustainable mixed-use new neighbourhood. The project is an important part of the town centre’s wider regeneration and Slough’s future vision.
The proposals will deliver approximately 1,500 new homes, new public open spaces, workspaces and community amenities to the former Thames Valley University site, creating a thriving new destination for Slough. The masterplan for NWQ has evolved following two previous rounds of stakeholder and community engagement last year, and wide-ranging discussions with Slough Borough Council officers and their advisers. Muse will be submitting a planning application to Slough Borough Council later this month.
We are again inviting the community to attend a public drop-in session next week (details below) where everyone is invited to ask questions about how the designs have progressed, and share views with the project team on the plans for this important town centre site prior to the application being submitted:
Event venue: Observatory Shopping Centre (High Street, Slough SL1 1LN), next to TK Maxx
Date: Tuesday 14 April 2026
Time: 3pm–6pm
For those unable to attend the event in person, local residents, businesses and stakeholders can visit northwestquadrant.commonplace.is from 14 April, where the plans will be presented and a feedback form will be available. Slough Borough Council will also carry out its own statutory public consultation once the planning application is submitted.
As development partner, we bring over 40 years’ experience in delivering complex, high‑quality regeneration projects across the UK. Our track record of leading mixed‑use schemes demonstrates our commitment to creating successful places, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, community and quality.
Chris Scott, Development Director, said:
“Although we are submitting the planning application this month, we remain committed to an open and ongoing dialogue to ensure that North West Quadrant can be delivered effectively and impactfully over the months and years ahead, meeting the needs and aspirations of the town as a whole.”
North West Quadrant is a 3.6‑hectare former university site located in central Slough. Vacant since 2010, the former Thames Valley University site presents a major regeneration opportunity that will revitalise a key part of the town centre. The site is a key pillar of Slough’s 2040 Vision, helping to create a new community and destination that respects the town’s history, culture and heritage.
