A shared vision for Castleford

We’ve been appointed by Wakefield Council as Strategic Regeneration Partner (SRP) for Castleford, marking an important step forward in the town’s long-term regeneration ambitions.

Working alongside the Council, we’ll help shape and deliver a shared vision for Castleford that builds on the town’s strengths, creates new opportunities for residents and businesses, and brings forward transformational regeneration over the coming years.

Building on our existing partnership with Wakefield Council, our focus will be on revitalising Castleford town centre and strengthening connections to the riverside, while supporting economic growth, attracting investment and creating high-quality places for people to live, work and spend time.

As the largest town in the Wakefield district, Castleford is well positioned for future growth, with strong transport links across West Yorkshire and the wider North. Significant investment is already being made through the Town Deal and Pride in Place programmes, alongside ongoing improvements to the town centre and riverside. Our role will be to help build on that momentum and unlock further opportunities for local people and businesses.

The appointment also strengthens our growing portfolio across Yorkshire and the North East. Alongside our work in Wakefield, we’re delivering regeneration projects across the region, including the Durham Innovation District and major schemes through ECF, our partnership with Homes England and L&G, in Bradford, Hull, Gateshead and Sunderland.

Working with Muse, we’ll bring forward projects that attract investment, improve connections across the town centre, and create new opportunities for residents and businesses. Together, we share an ambition to deliver lasting regeneration that makes a real difference to people’s lives.”

Over the coming months, we’ll work alongside Wakefield Council, local communities and stakeholders to develop a shared vision and delivery strategy for the town, with individual proposals brought forward as plans progress.
