Greater Manchester Takes Centre Stage at MIPIM and UKREiiF

This year’s MIPIM and UKREiiF were an important moment for Greater Manchester’s reputation on the national and international stage. The unified strength of the region – not just in the scale of its ambition, but in the depth of its collaboration – was clear.
For the first time, all 10 boroughs which make up Greater Manchester were fully represented at MIPIM. It meant a balanced focus between Manchester city centre and the wider region, reflecting strategic progress years in the making.
The idea that the economy of Greater Manchester relies on Manchester city centre is giving way to a broader, more resilient perspective. From Oldham to Stockport, Salford to Wythenshawe, there are meaningful regeneration plans being delivered.
This hasn’t happened by accident. It is the result of decades of partnership working and collaboration across the region.
Having a Metro Mayor, in Andy Burnham, who can speak for all 10 boroughs has been critical to align priorities, develop wider strategies, and unlock region-wide conversations with Government and investors.
Muse has been part of this evolution. Our partnership approach has helped shape new places in Salford, Oldham, Stockport, Bury and Manchester. We are delivering new homes, innovation space, offices, retail and public spaces right across the region.
Of course, the scale of regeneration underway across Greater Manchester is not just about physical transformation – it’s about creating places where communities thrive, businesses invest, and opportunity is shared more evenly.
In Oldham we are delivering around 2,000 new homes as part of a dynamic new town centre neighbourhood. Our partnership with Salford City Council and the University of Salford is delivering innovation-led regeneration at Crescent Salford. Elsewhere, in Stockport, we are supporting the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation deliver a new place to live, work, and visit.

Elsewhere in the region, we are working in partnership with Manchester City Council in Wythenshawe to deliver the £500m regeneration of the town centre. In Bury, we are working with the council to deliver Prestwich Village – a vibrant hub with new homes, retail, and public spaces – and alongside Tameside Council to deliver the Ashton Moss Innovation Park.

Manchester is a global brand and a powerful driver of growth and investment in the region. Everyone benefits from its success. However, as we reflect on the conversations at MIPIM and UKREiiF, two things have become clear.
Firstly, the strategy is working – Greater Manchester is coming together as one and working in partnership to deliver. Secondly, the region’s strengths lie in its unity and collective commitment to growth.
There is much more to come from Greater Manchester. The optimism and energy are palpable.
