The Association for Rental Living has welcomed Muse as its latest member. Membership will enable our teams, and the Association for Rental Living, to share best practice and engage on key challenges facing the industry, benefitting the whole living sector.

The membership body for all institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors, the Association for Rental Living has over 300 members across the UK, covering all touchpoints of the rental living experience. The Association is on a mission to support the rental living sector to work together to drive progress and quality.

Head of Residential at Muse, Stephanie Smith, is keen to amplify the impact of such partnerships through membership of the Association for Rental Living. She comments:

At Muse, we are industry leaders in delivering beautiful and sustainable neighbourhoods. Becoming a member of the Association for Rental Living reinforces our commitment to the industry, offering the opportunity to learn from others and share our own best practice from across the country. ”

“With a national housing shortage and clear call to action from government, the need for well-designed communities, including quality homes of all tenures, has never been more pressing. Joining the Association for Rental Living will enable us to enhance our approach by drawing on its knowledge, resources and networks.”

Stephanie is a founding member of the ARL and leads as Chair on the Association’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She was also appointed to the Association for Rental Living Board in 2024.

We were recently crowned national ‘ESG Developer of the Year’ at Property Week’s ESG Edge Awards, and have an exemplary track record of leading complex, mixed-use regeneration in partnership with local authorities and the public sector.

We are currently delivering more than 2,000 new homes, 44% of which are affordable homes. Our teams in Manchester, Leeds, London and Birmingham are delivering homes in diverse locations, ranging from affordable Passivhaus homes at Greenhaus and Willohaus in Salford to Build to Rent (BTR) homes at Lewisham Gateway.

Our reach is further extended through a series of strategic partnerships, including ECF with Legal & General and Homes England, and Habiko with Pension Insurance Corporation and Homes England. With a focus on meeting local need, we create beautiful, diverse and sustainable places.

Brendan Geraghty, CEO, Association for Rental Living comments:

We are delighted to welcome Muse as a valued member of the Association for Rental Living. With significant synergies around our organisations’ commitment to sustainability, community and quality, along with a truly people-centred approach, Muse’s membership has the potential to deliver significant benefits for the rental living sector.””
